Trim tab

You can set your preferences to support the Cut/Copy, and Paste functions. These functions work similarly to the Cut/Copy and Paste functions in Z and I Emulator for Windows.

Classic Box Style
Text is selected for Cut/Copy and Paste functions from within a rectangle box created by dragging the mouse or using the keyboard.
Trim Rectangle sizing handles

Allows you to resize a trim-rectangle after you draw it using any of the eight handles around its perimeter. If you put the mouse cursor on one of these handles, the mouse cursor changes to a double-headed arrow, indicating that you can click-and-drag the handle either direction to resize the trim-rectangle.

If you leave the checkbox unchecked, the trim-rectangle is not resizable, but you can draw new trim-rectangles until you have the size you want.

Trim Rectangle remains after edit function
Enables the trim-rectangle to remain on the screen after you complete your cut or copy. You can then drag the rectangle to another location on the screen if you want to paste into an area of exactly the same size.

If you leave the checkbox unchecked, the trim-rectangle disappears when you complete your cut or copy function.

Windows style
Text is selected for Cut/Copy and Paste functions from within a contiguous line by line area created by dragging the mouse or using the keyboard.

Windows style Selection is an uneven selection of the text on Presentation space (PS).

A radio button is provided in the Trim tab page present in the Edit > Preferences > Edit window. If the user selects Windows Style radio button, the rectangles drawn are by default without sizing handles and are solid rectangles.

In this case,if the Classic box style options are disabled, special copy options such as Copy as Table, Copy as Image, and Copy as Fields are disabled.

Important:
The following JVM environments do not set the clipboard correctly and may produce copy and paste results that are not accurate:
