Recording and playing back a simple macro

The purpose of this chapter is to give you a hands-on introduction to the Macro Manager by stepping through three basic tasks:

Recording a simple macro.
Playing back the recorded macro.
Assigning the playback of the macro to a particular key combination.

You can follow these same steps yourself by starting a Z and I Emulator for Web 3270 Display session, connecting to an MVS system, and logging on to TSO. The ISPF Primary Option Menu is the first application screen to appear after you log on (see Figure 2).

Be sure to get permission from your systems administrator before doing this, and have an experienced ISPF user sitting next to you, if necessary.
