Disable Functions: Configuration

The radio buttons on the Configuration pane enable or disable groups of functions that allow users to set default values for new SQL statements and new File Upload statements (in 3270 Display, 5250 Display, and VT Display sessions).

However, these radio buttons cannot be used to enable or disable functions in Database On-Demand sessions. For Database On-Demand sessions, use the controls in the Database On-Demand Group Options window or the Database On-Demand User Options window, accessible from the Administration Utility (see Database On-Demand Group/User Options).

The groups of functions that allow users to configure default values for new SQL statements and new File Upload statements are located on the panes of the Data Transfer Defaults window, which is accessible either from the client session window (Actions > Data Transfer Defaults) or from the session properties.

The following table shows the pane of the Data Transfer Defaults window on which each group of functions is located:

Functions:

Table Options
Allows the user of a Z and I Emulator for Web client to select the types of tables that can be accessed in both the SQL Wizard and the File Upload Wizard.

If this entry is enabled, and if the Edit table filter entry is also enabled on the Edit Permissions tab of the Disable Functions window (see Edit Table filter), then the user can modify the list of schema names, schema filters, table names, and table filters that determines the contents of the List of available tables in the SQL Wizard and the File Upload Wizard.

JDBC Drivers
Allows the user of a Z and I Emulator for Web client to register one or more JDBC drivers (see Registering a JDBC driver).
Default Logon Properties
Allows the user of a Z and I Emulator for Web client to set the default logon values for new SQL statements and new File Upload statements.
BIDI Options
Allows the user of a Z and I Emulator for Web client to specify options for bidirectional languages (Arabic and Hebrew).

Settings:

Enabled
Enables the function for: The menu item, button, or toolbar icon for this function is added to the user interface of the client.
Disabled
Disables the function. The menu item, button, or toolbar icon for this function is removed from the user interface of the client.
Enable All
Enables all the functions listed on the current pane.
Disable All
Disables all the functions listed on the current pane.
Inherited (Enabled)
This setting, which is available only when you open the Disable Functions window from the Administration Utility, indicates that the currently selected user or group (such as User1) inherits the setting of the group to which it belongs, and that this setting is enabled in the group. For example, if you are editing the profile of User1, and you set Add Sessions to Inherited (Enabled) for User1, this indicates that User1 inherits the Add Sessions setting of the group to which it belongs, and that currently the group to which it belongs has Add Sessions set to Enabled.
Inherited (Disabled)
This setting, which is available only when you open the Disable Functions window from the Administration Utility, indicates that the currently selected user or group inherits the setting of the group to which it belongs, and that this setting is disabled in the group.
Inherit All
The currently selected user or group inherits all its settings from the group to which it belongs.
