Host Sessions

Use the Host Sessions window to perform the following tasks:

New / Import: Create or import host sessions

Click New / Import to open the Add sessions window. This window allows you to either create a new session (default) or import an existing session.

To create a new session, select a host type, enter a session name and destination address (optional), and click OK. Host types include the following:

To import an existing session, type the path and name of the file containing the session and then click OK, or else click Browse to select an existing file.

Note For you to import a session from a file, someone must have previously exported the session into that file. A session can be exported from the Administration Utility, from the Deployment Wizard, or from the Z and I Emulator for Web client desktop (see Export Session).

If you have multiple sessions defined on the Host Sessions window, you can choose the order that you want your sessions to be displayed initially on your Z and I Emulator for Web client. To do this, highlight the session that you want to move, and then select the up or down arrow button to the left of the host session list box.

Note that once a user accesses the HTML file, reordering the Deployment Wizard sessions on the server will have no effect because all the configuration information, including the order of the session icons, is stored locally on the user's machine.

See also Color limitations.

Actions: Copy, delete, start, and export sessions

Once you highlight a session, use the Actions menu to copy, delete, start, or export the selected session. When you start a session, you can configure certain run-time properties such as window size and placement, colors, toolbar customizations, macros, and more. Any changes you make to the session will be saved as part of the HTML file.

The Export session option allows you to export the entire selected session to a file on any mapped drive. Once you export the session, you can use it anywhere the import function is supported. For example, in the Deployment Wizard, you can import it into any HTML file.

Configure: Session properties, keyboard, toolbar, popup keypad and server macro library

Use the Configure menu to configure various options for the highlighted session. You can configure the session properties, import (or export) keyboard, toolbar, and popup keypad definitions, or define a server macro library.

Disable Functions

Click Disable Functions to open the Disable Functions window, where you can specify which functions if any you want to be unavailable to users. Disabling a function disables it for all the sessions defined in your HTML file.
